Game 1
“We got fortunate with a couple of those goals. Just a weird night.”
-Joe Thornton
Game 2
“Plain and simple, their players beat ours every way tonight.”
-Justin Williams
Game 3
“It’s a tough hill, and we won’t go quietly away, that’s for sure.”
-Darryl Sutter
Game 4
“The team has got a lot of grit, a lot of fight. We want to win. We wanted to win tonight. It didn’t happen. We’ll rest up and come ready to play in [Game 5]. We knew that about guys in here, but it’s definitely good to see.”
-Joe Pavelski
Game 5
“We believe. This core group, we’ve done it a bunch of different ways over the years but we really haven’t done this. I think everyone is kind of using it as a little bit of motivation to try and claw back. It’s like looking uphill. You look at the top of the hill, all of the sudden it seems pretty daunting. But if you look just right in front of you, it’s more manageable. I think that’s what we’ve tried to do and we knew early on that we spotted them a couple games and we’re still in a real tough spot here. We’re going to have to bust our butts to win the next one and then play in a Game 7, which would be pretty cool.”
-Willie Mitchell
Game 6
“We got cheated, simple as that.”
-Todd McLellan
Game 7
“It’s one of those things you’ll probably look back on when you’re done playing. Right now, we’re excited about just advancing because at the end of the day that’s what it was about. It wasn’t about making history or doing that sort of thing. It just kind of happened for us and now we have to get prepared again.”
