Quick to start; no Martinez likely

The Los Angeles Kings did not hold line rushes on Thursday morning, instead relying on one-on-one attempts on goaltenders and drills to advance the puck out of their defensive end.

Jonathan Quick left the ice first at the morning skate, so he’s tonight’s projected starter. Since Quick returned to action in a 3-1 win over Vancouver on January 4, the only game he didn’t start was the January 21 Columbus game, which came on the second night of a Boston-Columbus back-to-back. Martin Jones received that start and stopped 29-of-34 shots.

Alec Martinez remained on the ice for extra work with Jones, so his return to the lineup since suffering a hyperextended elbow on January 25 will likely wait until after the Olympic break.
