December 28 Postgame Quotes: Darryl Sutter

On Nashville’s game-winning goal:
It was a pretty bad coverage on our part.

On his interpretation on whether the puck crossed the line:
The referees called it a goal on the ice, and they obviously reviewed it, and they called it a goal, too, so that would be the interpretation. It’s pretty logical. I’m sure that’s what everybody’s was.

On Willie Mitchell’s performance:
I thought our defense was very average again.

On whether Nashville gained momentum from killing off a third period penalty:
No, I thought we got momentum killing a penalty in the second period. One team doesn’t always have all the momentum, right?

On Nashville’s game-winning goal:
Mike’s got to stay with the centerman. It’s center-center on faceoffs. Fisher shouldn’t be able to carry it and I think when Mike lost his gap on him, and then Drew goes to him, and then they’re both in between. Normally Mike’s got to stay with him, and Drew’s got to front, and Mitchell’s just got to work back to the front. Easy play.
