December 11 postgame quotes: Jonathan Bernier

On whether he’s glad facing the Kings is behind him:
I mean, it’s a great challenge. I didn’t mind it. I didn’t mind the challenge or the extra pressure that was put on me. It was actually a lot of fun.

On having seen Jeff Carter and Drew Doughty shots in practice:
I thought Doughty made a great play. He faked everyone and kind of held it, held it. It went against the screen and was a great shot. Carter, obviously you give him a few two-on-ones, at one point he’s going to get a pretty good chance to put it in the back of the net.

On whether the Kings said anything to him during the game:
No, I think it was pretty much all business. I’m sure Suttsy probably said something before the game that they’re not allowed to talk to me, or something like that.

On whether things have worked out after an full-time opportunity wasn’t available in L.A.:
Yeah. Definitely. That’s what I’ve been waiting for, and I’ve been getting playing time. I’ve just got to find a way to step up my game. Lately I thought some games we’ve deserved a better fate, and I’ve just got to find a way to stop one more.

On the Leafs’ play:
We’ve had some up and downs, but overall, I think we’re on the right path right now, and I thought tonight was the best game we’ve played this year, so that’s a positive point.
