November 6 practice quotes: Darryl Sutter

On what stuck with him from Tuesday’s Buffalo-San Jose game:
Good game. Awesome game to watch. [Reporter: Any aspects of Buffalo’s play that just stood with you as they start out their road trip?] They’re well-coached. They’re really disciplined in terms of their system that they want to play. They play with a lot of energy. Miller looks like he’s on again. [We’ll have our] hands full.

On what the team has to be aware of when Steve Ott is on the ice:
I’m not sure, other than watching him last night, how their staff uses him, but usually he’s out on the ice against your top players. So your top players have got to know that more than anybody.

On whether this current stretch is particularly good for goalies:
Well, we’ve had Kim and Billy here working with our goalies, so it’s basically been one on one. So hopefully they’ve taken full [advantage]. They’re in different situations. Ben’s a guy that we’ll try to let him know when he gets his games, but he’s got to stay practice ready, and Jonathan’s a guy that when he’s not practicing much, you see where his game slips. So this last week he’s had lots of practice time, so his game – he should be right on top.

On whether he has an update on Jarret Stoll:
No. Didn’t see him today.
