On his first assist:
I knew we had a stick in front and a body there. Sometimes you get lucky throwing a puck in front of the net like that, and you get a bounce in. It happens against us, and it happens with us.
On getting back into the lineup:
I felt good. First game back in a while, you’ll be a little more composed with the puck, and a couple reads. But for the most part, it felt good to get back out there, and the body felt good.
On how he graded himself physically, given his comments from earlier today:
A little bit better. I still can be a little more physical and harder on guys down low. Just coming back and getting the reads, and little plays through the neutral zone and reading guys’ speed and stuff like that. It was pretty good for the most part, though.
On what the team had stressed in the second intermission and on the bench in the third period:
Just to go out and win the period. The third period, tied at home, our stress was that we were going to win this period. That’s what we were saying in here, and we went out and we won it. Good effort by everyone. Quickie was good. Penalty kill was good. It was a good win to start the homestand here.
