On his goal:
Willie was just kind of climbing up the wall there and, Willie, he is a good player. He finds a lot of things, he is creative, so I knew that was my opportunity to become active. First I was looking for the up top seam and once it was gone I decided to move down and if he shot it maybe there’s a rebound or if he found, which he did. From there I was looking to pass and there was nothing there so I just kind of tried to go five-hole on him and it went in. [Reporter: Were you surprised it got through there?] Yeah, I didn’t think it was going to go in to be honest. I have been getting a lot of chances lately, especially offensively. I have been in on the rushes getting good opportunities, opportunities I should be scoring on. Sometimes the ones you shouldn’t score on go in.
On taking the lead in the third period:
Our group here is really good and that’s what we want to be. We know we want to play a full 60-minute game, but if our best period is the third period and we are going to go into it and win it every time then that’s definitely a good thing. We want to create that identity at home. We have a little bit of a homestand here so we got to create that. We want to be a hard team to play against. We don’t want teams to be coming into Staples and thinking it’s an easy night. We want it to be hard for them.
