The Los Angeles Kings have acquired forward Daniel Carcillo from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for a conditional pick in the 2015 NHL Draft, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

Carcillo, 27, has spent the last two seasons with the Blackhawks.  In 23 games last season, he had three points (2-1=3) and 11 penalty minutes.  In four postseason games with Chicago he had one assist and six penalty minutes.

Prior to joining the Blackhawks in 2011-12, Carcillo spent parts of three seasons with the Philadelphia Flyers (2008-09 to 2010-11) and parts of three seasons with the Phoenix Coyotes (2006-07 to 2008-09).  Carcillo was traded mid-season from Phoenix to Philadelphia in 2008-09.

The 6-0, 203-pound native of King City, Ontario has appeared in 333 regular season NHL games during his career, posting 87 points (40-47=87) and 1,079 penalty minutes.  Carcillo led the NHL in penalty minutes in 2007-08 (324 PIM) and 2008-09 (254), while ranking fourth in 2009-10 (207).  In 37 career playoff games he has 12 points (5-7=12) and 75 penalty minutes.

Carcillo was originally selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the third round (73rd overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
