KingsVision: Mike Futa, Mark Yannetti on the draft

Daryl Evans and KingsVision spoke earlier today with Los Angeles Kings Directors of Amateur Scouting Mike Futa and Mark Yannetti on the team’s outlook heading into the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. The videos are embedded below.

I also had an interesting chat with Futa while in Edmonton during the regular season in which he explained that even though the Kings don’t have a pick until the 57th overall selection, the approach and the philosophy towards the draft does not change. “Dean’s never been one to not be active at the draft if there’s a kid that we’re thrilled about,” Futa said in February. “We find that this year’s draft, depending on what the team’s needs are – the big team, or whether it’s picks – our list is the same as it is when we had multiple early picks. Your attention to detail never changes.”
