Richards absent from morning skate

-Mike Richards did not take the ice at the morning skate at Staples Center on Tuesday and should be considered is out for Game 3. Tyler Toffoli skated opposite Dustin Penner on a line centered by Jeff Carter in a reprise of the combination that found success in Sunday’s Game 2 loss.
UPDATE: Darryl Sutter ruled Richards out for Game 2. “If it was just about Mike Richards making the decision, Mike Richards is playing tonight,” Sutter said. “You’ve got guys that don’t want to play, and you’ve got guys that do want to play. Mike Richards is a guy that wants to play.”

-Jake Muzzin left the ice before Alec Martinez, which could be an indication that Muzzin will be back in the lineup for Game 3.

-Full lineup projections for both the Kings and Blackhawks will be posted later in the day.
