On losing in overtime, and calls that went against the Kings late in the game:
“It’s part of it. It happens. Certainly we’re not happy with the calls, but what team really is? So we’ll try to do our best to dust ourselves off and get ready for the next one.”
On Jonathan Quick’s performance:
“He’s obviously been great every single game for us. He’s given a chance for us to win almost every single game. Couture’s a good player. You give him that kind of time, that kind of space, he’s most likely going to make you pay, and he did.”
On leading 2-1 in the series, and what he took away from Game 3:
“I thought the team got stronger as the game went along. They play so well here, and you’ve really got to kind of weather the storm for the first period and I thought we did that, and then as the game went along, I thought we got stronger, we got better. And then the calls at the end obviously put us on our heels a little bit because you’ve got to do the penalty kill. I’m not complaining about them, Just that’s the way it goes, and like I said, just kind of figure out the next one.”
On a late five-on-three and the similarity in the ending to Game 2:
I know you’re not trying to make any direct correlation, and I don’t think the referees try to do it that way. It just kind of happens that way, and we weren’t able to get the kill.”
On whether there was anything particular with the calls that he didn’t like:
“No. To be honest, I haven’t seen them, so there’s really nothing I can say. I’m not even complaining about them – I just mean in general. I mean, any time you get a penalty in the playoffs, you don’t want to take one, and certainly if its what you might deem as a pretty easy call, then certainly you’re not going to be happy with it. But I haven’t seen the replays, so I have no right to say or judge anything.”
On the Kings’ performance:
“The fact that they are so good at home – I thought they came out really strong, really took the pace of the game to us. But, again, I thought as the game went along, we got stronger and stronger. I thought we started to limit their opportunities, limit their speed and its effectiveness, I thought we started to take our game more to them in the third period. We just couldn’t get one at the right time. It’s the way it goes.”
