Kings advance, will play Ducks or Sharks

The fifth-seeded Los Angeles Kings defeated the fourth-seeded St. Louis Blues in six games and will face either the second-seeded Anaheim Ducks or the sixth-seeded San Jose Sharks in the Western Conference Semifinals of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Though Los Angeles has never faced Anaheim in a playoff series, they lost three games in overtime and dropped a six-game series to San Jose in 2011. The only other time Los Angeles has faced a Pacific Division foe in the playoffs was last season’s five-game series victory over Phoenix in the Western Conference Final.
