NHL confirms Kings-Ducks Dodger Stadium game

It’s official. The Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks will play a regular season NHL game at Dodger Stadium on January 25, 2014, the NHL announced Monday.

The event will be a part of the 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series, which will also bring NHL regular season hockey to Yankee Stadium, Soldier Field and BC Place in addition to the 2014 Winter Classic, which will pit the Detroit Red Wings against the Toronto Maple Leafs against at 107,501-seat Michigan Stadium on January 1, 2014.

“At a venue that represents so much glorious sports history, this match-up of Stanley Cup champions will raise our outdoor initiatives to bold new heights,” NHL commissioner Gary Bettman said in the NHL’s release. “We know the game will be a treat for our fans, and we thank the Ducks, the Kings, Coors Light, Dodger Stadium and the Los Angeles Dodgers for bringing it to life.”

LA Kings Insider will have more coverage on this unique Southern California sporting event throughout the afternoon.
