On the overtime win over Dallas:
“No matter how you get them, I guess, you get the two points. It’s all that matters. I don’t know how the other games turned out tonight, but I think if we continue winning, they’re going to have to come here at the beginning of the playoffs. That’s our goal right now. We want to have home ice, and we’re just going to keep fighting every night to get to points every time we go out.”
On the explanation he received from Dallas’ second goal:
“The only explanation I got was that he said his stick was under his shoulder. I’m sure some guys got different explanations, but that’s the one I got. They’re going to make mistakes. Refs are going to make mistakes. Players make mistakes. It happens. It was good we were able to ckind of catch a little bit of adversity and battle through it and still come out with the win. I think that’s the most important thing here.”
Oh how to best channel emotion when a call goes against the team:
“I don’t know if I did a great job of it, if you were watching the game. You get fired up. Obviously it’s an emotional game. It’s the end of the year, a few games left. You bring a lot of emotion into the game. It’s when you think something you think should be one way and it goes the other, sometimes your emotions get the best of you. I think the best way to handle it is you just take a deep breath and just worry about the next play, and that’s all you can think about. Bad calls are going to happen. Bad plays are going to happen by yourself. Things are going to happen in a game. It’s going to be up and down, and you’ve just got to be able to worry about the next shot and kind of keep moving forward.”
