Penner activated

Dustin Penner was activated today after missing four games due to a lower body injury. Penner suffered the injury late in the third period while chasing down a loose puck in the 3-2 win at Dallas on March 31.

Kyle Clifford admirably kept the seat warm with effective forechecking and physical play alongside Mike Richards and Jeff Carter in Penner’s absence, though he was assessed three minor penalties over the last two games. Penner, who has 11 points (2-9=11) in 25 games, is likely to slot back into his left wing role alongside Richards and Carter for tomorrow night’s game in Dallas.

Clifford would likely drop down two lines, meaning either Brad Richardson, Colin Fraser or Jordan Nolan would be scratched for tomorrow’s game.

In the four games Penner was absent, the Kings were 2-1-1.

Head Coach Darryl Sutter updated the progress Penner had made earlier today.
