On whether the team is moving in the right direction:
“Yeah. Obviously we’ve still got work to do. You always have got work to do, right? But we’re playing solid. We’re playing solid at home here. We’re making it hard on teams and made it hard on the right guys tonight, and it shows.”
On Edmonton’s first period:
“I thought we were pretty good in the first. They’ve got that one line that’ll make a few plays here and there, but I thought we did a great job on them.”
On Drew Doughty and Robyn Regehr’s performance against Edmonton’s top line:
“They’re great. That’s what they do. They play hard against top guys. I think having Reg back there for Dewey now – a big, physical guy – kind of gives Dewey a little more free reign, I guess. They’ve been great.”
On how they countered Edmonton’s speed:
“We started to skate. We’re a fast team, too, and the last couple of games that we played them we didn’t I guess have our speed. We didn’t work pucks low, and tonight we did all that, and when you’re doing that and you’re [keeping] pucks low, they’re not going in there.”
On playing in day games:
“I actually like them, I’ve never minded them. You just kind of wake up and go and not much time to think about things and usually the first team to wake up wins, I enjoy them.”
