On the resolve shown by coming back from three deficits to win:
“We don’t give up. I think one of our best qualities is no matter what the score is, we always fight to try to get back in the game. Tonight there was a bunch of times where we made mistakes for them to score their goals, and it easily could have gone the other way. But the captains were on us. They made sure that everyone on this room was believing that we could come back.”
On whether he’s proud of the work ethic shown tonight:
“Yeah, we definitely worked hard, but I still don’t think we played well. We’ve played the Chicago team I think three times now, and we haven’t showed them the real way we can play. We weren’t happy about that, but the main thing is we got the win. That’s all that matters.”
On his rush into the zone to set up Dwight King’s late second period goal:
“I knew there wasn’t a lot of time left, and we were down a goal there, so I just kind of wanted to try and get in the zone and get a good scoring chance before the period was over. Luckily I got by some guys. Usually that doesn’t happen.”
On Tyler Toffoli providing a game-tying third period goal:
“He’s a goal scorer. Everyone knows that. So for him to step up at that time and put one in the net is huge for us. Us older guys, when we see a young guy like that put a puck in the net, that gives us a boost of energy as well.”
