March 25 postgame notes: Tyler Toffoli

On his game-tying goal:
“It was just a good breakout. Slava made a nice pass to me. We were talking before we did the faceoff. I guess it went exactly as we planned.”

On his first road game and whether he had to calm any jitters:
“I think the guys before the game told me that this was going to be the best barn you play in on the road. I prepared myself as much as I could, but I mean, the anthem, and then just playing against the Chicago Blackhawks was a great feeling. It was good to get the two points.”

On the resiliency shown by coming back from three deficits:
“It was good. We were just battling all game. The first, we had to kill a four minute penalty and we just kept battling. We just kept working hard, and pucks just started going in and we were getting some bounces and we came out with two points.”

On starting the trip with a win:
“We lost the two games, [and] it was obviously tough losing two at home, so we wanted to come out here and get the road trip going well. It was a big two points to start, and now we’ve got to move on to the next game.”

On scoring five goals after being shut out twice in a row:
“Obviously we were playing well, just not getting any luck, so we just wanted to get pucks inside. I mean, you look at Kinger’s goal – he was going to the net. Drew made a nice move, obviously. Just going to the net and getting pucks on net and just driving the net.”
