“I’m pretty sure they have video, too, so they’re going to look at us and try the same thing we do to the other team. There’s no secret to what we do. But we’ve got to do it better. Today was not nearly as good enough as we need to be.”
On whether the team needs a scorer like Jarome Iginla or Marian Gaborik, two players whose names have surfaced in trade rumors:
“Right now, it seems that way. But before these two games, I didn’t think we had trouble scoring. Would it help? For sure. Are we in desperate need of one? I don’t think so, because we have a lot of firepower, or a lot of guys that can score on any given night.”
On what has been different in the offensive zone in the last two games:
“Probably if we knew, we’d probably do the same thing tonight and score a couple. I don’t know. I can’t point out anything.”
On what the team has to do against an offensively capable Chicago team on Monday:
“The way it usually goes, it’s going to go in off somebody’s skate or somebody’s ass and [we’ll] get on the board and the floodgates are going to open.”
