On what led to the victory:
“We outworked them in the third, I think. Who knows. They played last night against Colorado, so maybe that played a factor in [it]. The first two periods were heavy. They were very physical. They had a lot of pace. When you’re playing back to back, sometimes it’s tough to play that style of game for 60 minutes. We were a little more fresh, I think, coming on a recovery day yesterday. We won the 20 minutes at the end, and that was what it took to win the game.”
On the importance of coming out strong in the third considering the Ducks are a team known for coming from behind:
“Why? Are they known for that? I didn’t know they were. I don’t know. No matter what, you have the lead, you don’t want to give it up.”
On whether the penalty kill early in the third was a turning point:
“Yeah, obviously. Every time somebody’s on the power play, it’s a chance for somebody to gain momentum, and if you kill it off, you gain a little bit. If you get a goal, obviously you’re going to get momentum. It goes both ways. We were able to kill it off, which was huge. We came back. We scored a couple big ones.”
On whether redemption was a factor, considering the previous loss to Anaheim:
“No, you’re just trying to win a game. That game’s in the past. You’re just trying to win a game. You start playing in the past, you’re not going to win many games. You just take it one game at a time.”
