Martinez update

As posted earlier, Alec Martinez’s injury isn’t expected to keep the 25-year old defenseman out of the lineup for an extended period of time. It remains classified as an “upper-body injury”.

Darryl Sutter, on how much time he expects Martinez to miss:
“He’ll be at least a week. At least.”

Sutter, on whether there’s a possibility of the injury being “long-term”:
“No. It’s not. It’s definitely not.”

Sutter, on whether he got a good view of where the injury occurred:
“[It was] just a very simple play going down the wall across the bench from us. Just banged it. That’s it. I’ve said it before. They had guys play with that during the playoffs, but we want him to be healed.”
