Mitchell postgame reaction (June 11)

Willie Mitchell’s postgame thoughts…

(on what he was thinking when he lifted the Cup…)
MITCHELL: “I think about my family. My family is here, my wife and my friends, and how they have supported me on this journey. To be honest, I was looking for them. I knew where they were sitting. I forgot to kiss the thing. I want to get that thing back here somehow. I think everyone else is kissing it. I forgot. It’s so hard. You’re in the moment right now. Reflection is afterward, I guess.’’

(on how it feels to win…)
MITCHELL: “I don’t know. [laughs] I can’t even describe it. Everyone played road hockey, and you’d get a little green garbage can and go around and pose with it. We just did it for real, baby.’’
