MITCHELL: “I think we still spent some time in our defensive zone there. I think we gained some momentum off our kill, and then I think we started to find some holes in behind their D. Their D are pretty aggressive. They play above, and you’ve got to win some battles along the wall to get some chances the other way. You don’t get many against these guys, and we managed to capitalize on a few.’’
(on the penalty kill at the end of the first period…)
MITCHELL: “We’ve got a good group. We’ve been doing it all year. It’s kind of a staple of our team. Obviously you don’t get a PK that good without good goaltending. We all know that. It’s kind of been a group that, John Stevens has been terrific with it, as far as details, and it’s been a group that takes a lot of pride in it. We feel it makes a difference, and tonight it did. So, we need to continue to do that if we want to get to where we want to be.’’

MITCHELL: “You don’t have time to think about things like that. It’s all about preparation. It’s all about doing the right things. If you’re looking at results, then you’re wasting your energy on the wrong thing. You need to do things the right way, and if you do things the right way, as individuals and as a team, it’s a cliche but, it takes care of itself, right? You can’t waste your energy doing that. Sometimes you play a good game and you run into a hot goaltender and you lose games. So, you just worry about your own game. If you do that, and do it on a consistent basis, the results come.’’
