Gagne cleared, won’t practice

As first reported by Lapresse.ca, Simon Gagne has been cleared for contact, but Gagne will not be with the team in Arizona and is not close to returning to game action. Dean Lombardi confirmed this morning that Gagne, who has been out since he suffered a concussion on Dec. 26, has been cleared for contact, but Lombardi said Gagne will remain in Los Angeles and is a “long way from playing — needs to get hit.” Still, that’s good news for Gagne, who has been skating with the Kings’ prospects in recent days. Gagne’s return this season remains a long shot, as it has been for a couple months.
