Willie Mitchell’s postgame thoughts…
(on whether it was important to close out the Canucks before they got more momentum…)
MITCHELL: “A little bit. We tried not to talk about it, because sometimes if you talk about it, it gets in your head that we’re giving the other team momentum or they’re building it on their own. We just kind of wanted to give ourselves a chance in here tonight. Obviously it was a big win for them down in L.A., and we said, `Well, let’s play a good road game and keep it tight and just give us a chance.’ I thought, early on, they carried the play. We started to get some life in the second but took some penalties, got in some penalty trouble. Then I thought, in the latter half of the third and obviously in overtime, we pressed pretty well and created a lot of chances and found a way to get one by.’’
