D. Sedin not skating; Montreal talk

Daniel Sedin is not on the ice for Vancouver’s morning skate. That doesn’t make it 100-percent certain that Sedin won’t play tonight, but it makes it far less likely. We’ll see what coach Alain Vigneault says after the skate.

On an unrelated note, the Canadian network SportsNet reported this morning that the Montreal Canadiens are interested in talking to Luc Robitaille about their vacant general manager position. Kings sources said that the team is not yet giving permission for other teams to talk to their employees about positions for next season, and that Ron Hextall is drawing interest as well. Then, of course, there would have to be mutual interest as well.

[UPDATE: Tim Leiweke said in an email that the Canadiens “have asked us for permission to talk to several executives with the Kings,” but that such discussions won’t take place now.]
