Scouting the Sharks

This is the fifth of six meetings this season between the Kings and the San Jose Sharks. So far, the Kings have two regulation wins and the Sharks have one regulation win and one shootout win. Of course, this home-and-home set of games has massive significance. A possible Pacific Division title is on the line, but it’s also possible that one of these teams will miss the playoffs entirely. The Sharks kept themselves in the hunt for the division title with big back-to-back wins over Dallas on Saturday and Tuesday. Both teams will be pulling hard for Nashville today. If Nashville beats Dallas in regulation, both the Kings and the Sharks will have clinched a playoff spot, regardless of what happens tonight at Staples Center. The Sharks are expected to be without defenseman Douglas Murray (lower-body injury), while defenseman Slava Voynov might be a game-time decision for the Kings. For the latest on the Sharks, check out the coverage from the San Jose Mercury News, followed by the possible lineups for the Kings and the Sharks…
