King postgame quotes (April 2)

Dwight King’s postgame thoughts…

(on whether he knew what Richards would do on the 2-on-1…)
KING: “I had an idea that he was trying to get him over (closer to the boards). I didn’t know if he was going to wait until the guy came totally over. It looked like he changed his mind halfway. He almost went all the way to him, then he backed off, which gave (Richards) enough time to make a nice pass.’’

(on whether he picked a spot before the puck arrived…)

KING: “Usually, most goalies slide across with their pads down. I really just tried to elevate the puck, and it just happened to go in a good spot.’’

(on scoring a goal in a big game…)

KING: “It’s great. Obviously, scoring any time is a good moment. A crucial goal like that, to put us up 2-0, was good for me and good for our team.’’
