Scouting the Canucks

This is the fourth and final meeting of the season between the Kings and the Vancouver Canucks. It followed the Canucks’ 3-2 win in Los Angeles on Nov. 10, the Kings’ 4-1 win in Los Angeles on Dec. 31 and the Kings’ 3-2 shootout win in Vancouver on Jan. 17. The Canucks, after a 1-3-1 skid, have won two consecutive games and are four points behind St. Louis for the top spot in the Western Conference, with one game in hand. The Canucks play six of their last seven regular-season games at home. If the Canucks get an early lead, watch out. The Canucks have a 37-9-4 record this season when they score the first goal, and a 25-3-3 record when they lead after the first period. The Canucks have a plus-30 scoring margin in the first period this season, compared to minus-7 in the second period and plus-15 in the third period. Vancouver will make one change, with Marc-Andre Gragnani replacing the injured Aaron Rome on defense, and Roberto Luongo gets the start in goal for the Canucks. For the latest on the Canucks, check out the coverage from the Vancouver Province and the Vancouver Sun, followed by the possible lineups for the Kings and the Canucks…
