Darryl Sutter’s postgame thoughts…
(on the game…)
SUTTER: “We had a lot of opportunities. You have to finish the job when you have them, against a team like that. They’ve got the goaltender that, I think he was the most valuable player in the league last year at the most important time. And he was tonight, too.’’
(on whether Quick should have stopped the Lucic goal…)
SUTTER: “I think he was screened. I think Robbie (Scuderi) was playing goalie there too. He’s got to get his stick out and control the angle a little bit better.’’
(on flipping Richards and Stoll in the second period…)
SUTTER: “Faceoffs. Trying to get something different, righties, lefties.’’
(on the Kings’ power play tonight…)
SUTTER: “The one at the end of the second was awesome. The one in the third was pretty good too. Hey, that’s what you’re trying to do, is get really good looks. I think the early one, where they scored the shorthanded goal, Drew’s got to expect that pressure there.’’
(on winning three of the last four at home…)
SUTTER: “The team dug a hole on home ice early in the season, and we’ve tried to win every game since then. It’s simple. It’s pretty clear. That’s a tough task and it’s a big chore.’’
