Mitchell postgame quotes (March 24)

Willie Mitchell’s postgame thoughts…

(on the game…)
MITCHELL: “We had a little lull there. Obviously we came out strong in the first and they came out strong in the second. Great team over there, Stanley Cup champs, so you expect that close game. Obviously we made one more mistake than they did and lost the game 3-2 [4-2].’’

(on the tight playoff race…)
MITCHELL: “We know the situation we’re in. We’re battling with a bunch of other teams here to make the postseason, or win our division. We’re just preparing, every game, the same way. It’s a must-win. It’s never good to lose this time of year, that’s for sure.’’

(on facing Tim Thomas…)
MITCHELL: “He played well. Like I said, they scored one more goal than we did. It’s like our coach says, right? It’s a 3-2 game. We got some pucks to him. He played well. He got some breaks. We got some pucks by him, but they didn’t go into the net. That’s what it takes against a world-class goalie. We saw last year in the playoffs, when he’s on his game, what he can do for that team. We’ll look to regroup.’’
