Full day of playoff-race action

Settle in. It’s going to be a long day of scoreboard-watching in the Western Conference playoff race. Things kick off today at 11 a.m. Pacific time, with No. 8 Dallas hosting No. 11 Calgary. Then, don’t forget, it’s an early start at Staples Center as the No. 3 Kings host Boston. Then, at 7 p.m., No. 9 Colorado hosts No. 2 Vancouver and No. 10 San Jose hosts No. 7 Phoenix.

The Kings’ rooting interests are clear in only two of those games: their own, and in the Canucks beating the Avalanche. The other two are up for debate. Per the odds on the website sportsclubstats.com, it is (very) slightly in the Kings’ interests to have the Flames beat the Stars and to have the Sharks beat the Coyotes. Of course, the biggest things is for those games to end after three periods, and not become three-point games.
