Sutter postgame quotes (March 16)

Darryl Sutter’s postgame thoughts…

(on the first period…)
SUTTER: “A good period. We scored probably a couple goals that their goalie, for sure, would like back. We haven’t gotten any of those breaks in the last couple months. I thought our second period was our best period, and we actually, on the score clock, we lost it.’’

(on the offensive contributions from defensemen…)
SUTTER: “If you look at it from a goal-scoring standpoint, they’re in the top third in the league from defensemen scoring. So we expect them to do that.’’

(on holding the third-period lead…)
SUTTER: “We were up 3-0 in the first period, and I didn’t think it was a 3-0 period. We played really well in the second, and I think when you do that, you can just play within yourself. What’s the difference? I’ve said it 100 times. It’s a 3-2 league, right?’’

(on shutting down the last five minutes…)
SUTTER: “I don’t necessarily think we shut it down. The last two-and-a-half minutes, we did a really good job. But I think there was one shift there, when the big boys were out there from the other side, it was a highlight reel.’’
