Scouting the Ducks

This is the sixth and final meeting of the season between the Kings and the Anaheim Ducks. So far, the Kings have two regulation wins and two shootouts wins, while the Ducks have one regulation win. For the Kings, special teams have played a big part in the series. In their four wins, the Kings scored a total of four power-plays goals. In their loss, they went 0-for-2. The Ducks, once again, are trying to cling to life in the Western Conference playoff race. They’re in 12th place, 10 points behind eighth-place Colorado (with two games in hand) and seven points behind the 11th-place Kings. The Ducks are 4-5-1 in their last 10 games but are coming off a nice 4-0 victory over Detroit on Wednesday. The status of Ducks forward Corey Perry (shoulder) and Luca Sbisa (back) are both in doubt tonight. One report described them as “doubtful’’ to play tonight. One constant for the Ducks is goalie Jonas Hiller, who has started a franchise-record 30 consecutive games and will get the call again tonight. For the latest on the Ducks, check out the coverage from The Orange County Register, followed by the possible lineups for the Kings and the Ducks…

[UPDATE: Latest word is that both Perry and Sbisa are expected to play tonight.]
