Jonathan Quick’s postgame thoughts…
(on the Kings winning four of the last five…)
QUICK: “At the same time, you’ve got to play in the present. You have to take one game at a time. Those games behind us don’t mean anything when we step on the ice against Columbus in two days. As soon as they drop the puck there, it’s about getting two points there, and that’s it.’’
(on never beating Nashville before…)
QUICK: “I didn’t? Whew. [laughs] Well, that’s a big win then. I didn’t know that. They’re a good team. They’re tough to beat. We played great. We scored some timely goals. It was a huge, huge two points for us.’’
(on trying to reset after the second period…)
QUICK: “It’s the same thing, no matter what. Even if I make 20 saves and don’t let in any, it’s the same thing. It was a 3-3 game, so you just tell yourself, `It’s a 0-0 game here.’ You’ve got to win 20 minutes. That’s it. That’s all it was. It could be the same thing, if they scored three in the first and I kicked out 20. It doesn’t matter. It’s 20 minutes and it’s a tie game, so that’s all that matters.’’
