Sutter postgame quotes (March 3)

Darryl Sutter’s postgame thoughts…

(on Jeff Carter’s breakthrough…)
SUTTER: “I think, tonight, he had four or five really good (scoring chances), and scored on two. It was one of those games where Richards and Carter and Getzlaf and Perry were all highlight guys.’’

(on Dwight King’s contribution to the line…)
SUTTER: “It’s a solid line. It’s really no different than we said when we called them up. What he is is what he is. He’s a solid guy who makes good plays. He has good instincts and he’s playing with two really good players.’’

(on getting the first goal, on the power play…)
SUTTER: “Playing with the lead is pretty important in this league.’’

(on getting more offense of late with Carter in the lineup…)
SUTTER: “I don’t know. Yesterday and today, everybody was wondering why he hadn’t scored yet. So I guess we’ll just leave it out there.’’

(on players breaking through after getting a lot of scoring chances…)
SUTTER: “That’s the key, that they are getting them. That’s what is important. It’s like when Kopi and Brownie are struggling, and they’re not getting them, then you’re worried about it and trying to find answers for them. Mike Richards was really good tonight. Him and Carter will find their way. They will be fine.’’

(on the road trip…)
SUTTER: “It’s just the next game. Tonight is over, and we move. It’s like the sign at the airport. Park and ride.’’

(on starting the trip in Nashville…)

SUTTER: “It’s a tough place to play. They haven’t lost at home since Christ was a child.’’
