Stoll postgame quotes (Feb. 27)

Jarret Stoll’s postgame thoughts…

(on playing a solid game but losing again…)
STOLL: “It was a good hockey game. We put a lot into that one. We just didn’t get rewarded for our work. I’m beating a dead horse here, but it’s one goal. We can work hard, and do all the things we did tonight, but one goal is not going to win you most of your games. It was a battle. We’ve got to keep pushing it. We’ve got a big matchup tomorrow, a big two points available again tomorrow that we desperately need.’’

(on the difficulty of playing from behind against Nashville…)
STOLL: “They’re a good hockey team. They’re a quick team. They have a lot of depth. They use all their guys. They come in waves, it seems like, especially at home, and they play well. We knew that, we were prepared for that. Giving up that first goal and that second goal, it’s definitely an uphill battle. I thought we played OK. We’ve just got to be better, obviously. Pens and Lewie [Dustin Penner and Trevor Lewis] had that chance in the first, to make it 1-0 for us, and maybe it’s a different game for us. We’ve got to bear down on those situations, have the mindset to put the puck through the net. I had one of those in the second period, kind of a rebound. It was one of those where, if I get there half a second quicker, it’s definitely in the back of the net. We’ve just got to be better.’’
