This is the fifth of six meetings this season between the Kings and the Phoenix Coyotes. The Kings have a 3-0-1 edge so far, with each team recording one overtime victory. As noted earlier, tonight’s game should be strong. Three of the four meetings between these teams have been one-goal games, and the Coyotes — on a 5-0-1 run — have pulled within two points of the Kings in the conference standings. Much like the Kings, the Coyotes have been getting it done with defense, goaltending and penalty-killing. They have allowed a total of four regulation goals in their last five games, and they went 16-for-17 on the penalty kill in those five games. Up front, the Coyotes are led by Ray Whitney, who has 51 points, and Radim Vrbata, who has 26 goals. For the latest on the Coyotes, check out this story from The Arizona Republic, followed by tonight’s probable lineups for the Kings and the Coyotes…
