Jonathan Quick’s postgame thoughts
(on the frustration of losing low-scoring games…
QUICK: “Well, those guys that you guys say are supposed to be scoring, they’re also playing defense, and they’ve done a good job for us in our defensive zone. They’re one of the biggest reasons why we are so good in our defensive zone. With that said, though, in a game like tonight, we’ve got to find a way to tie that game up and push it into overtime, and we weren’t able to do that. At the end of the day now, I think we’re tied now in the standings, and it just makes these next 20-24 games tougher. It’s going to be a tough run and we have to find ways to win games.’’
(on the physical play…)
QUICK: “This time of year, that’s what you expect. You expect that tough, physical game. It’s not going to be a 7-5 game, especially in our conference. It’s going to be a tight game. That’s what we expect to play and that’s what we’ve been playing. We just have to find a way to win games, and we weren’t able to pull it out tonight. That’s what is frustrating, but the good thing about this league is, we’ve got tomorrow. Wake up, have a good practice and go again on Saturday.’’
