Scouting the Lightning

This is the only meeting of the season between the Kings and the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Lightning enter the game with a season-best seven-game point streak, as they are 6-0-1 since Jan. 15. Tampa Bay is coming off a 6-3 victory over Florida on Saturday, a game in which Martin St. Louis recorded a hat trick in his 900th career NHL game. The Lightning, in some respects, are the Kings’ mirror opposites. Tampa Bay is tied for eighth in the NHL in goals per game (2.84) and is 30th in goals-against per game (3.33). So basically, it’s the league’s worst offensive team against the worst defensive team. The Lightning have scored at least four goals in five of their last seven games. Dwayne Roloson is expected to get the call in goal for Tampa Bay, which would be his first start since Jan. 21. Tampa Bay’s lineup is a little unclear due to injury issues.
