Big day for young goalie

Understandably, after a few days off the ice, not every player was moving at 100-percent speed and effectiveness in practice today, but the big young guy in the black mask certainly was. With Jonathan Quick flying back from the All-Star Game, the Kings “called up” 20-year-old Salvatore Tecci, who plays Junior-B hockey for the Long Beach Bombers. Tecci, listed at 6-foot-3, 200 pounds, certainly had a presence in net, and got a chance to go through a 40-minute NHL practice. Tecci, a native of Henderson, Nev., lugged his gear out of the locker-room area after practice but paused and thanked Darryl Sutter for the opportunity.

“His mom and dad came in last night,” Sutter said. “He billets here, and his mom and dad drove in last night and got a room.”
