Mike Richards’ postgame thoughts…
(on taking five out of a possible six points on the road trip…)
RICHARDS: “Coming in here, we thought we let one slip away the other night. We wanted to come back. We never want to lose two in a row, and we came ready, I thought, right from the drop of the puck. We were shooting the puck a lot. Luongo made some good saves but we stuck with it and we got the win.’’
(on rolling four lines with success…)
RICHARDS: “That’s why we can put that pressure, I think, in the first period, because we play four lines and six D. Three in four nights is sometimes tough, but when you spread the ice time out, and you don’t have a lot of players playing over 20 minutes, I think it obviously allows you to be more fresh, especially late in the third period and in overtime.’’
(on scoring his shootout goal…)
RICHARDS: “When it went in, it was more relief than anything.’’
(on the game…)
RICHARDS: “It was good to see us play good defense. We got a couple of goals and played well enough to win the hockey game.’’
