Game 47: Kings 3, Canucks 2 (FINAL, SO)

OVERTIME
In goal: It’s still Quick vs. Luongo.
End of period: The Kings outshot the Canucks 4-3 in overtime and 41-33 in the game.

THIRD PERIOD
In goal: It’s still Quick vs. Luongo.
Kings 2, Canucks 2: Vancouver tied the game exactly five minutes into the third period. Jannik Hansen held the puck in the left circle, then fed a cross-ice pass that found David Booth all alone to the right of the net. Booth snapped a one-time high shot past Quick. Cody Hodgson also got an assist.
End of period: The Kings outshot the Canucks 37-31 in overtime.

SECOND PERIOD
In goal: It’s still Quick vs. Luongo.
Kings 1, Canucks 1: Vancouver tied the game with a power-play goal 2:41 into the second period. Daniel Sedin took a pass from Alexander Edler and skated the puck to the middle of the left circle. Sedin got his stick tied up, but managed to push a snap shot toward the net and beat Quick short-side. Alexandre Burrows also got an assist.
Kings 2, Canucks 1: The Kings got the lead back with a power-play goal with 4:46 remaining in the period. Anze Kopitar passed left in the Canucks’ zone to Willie Mitchell, who fired a slap shot from the left point. Luongo made the save, but the rebound kicked wide and directly to Justin Williams, who scored on a high wrist shot.
End of period: The Kings outshot the Canucks 10-9 in the period. The Kings went 1-for-1 on the power play and 1-for-2 on the penalty kill, and the Kings will be on the power play for the first 50 seconds of the third period.

FIRST PERIOD
In goal: It’s the Kings’ Jonathan Quick against the Canucks’ Roberto Luongo.
Kings 1, Canucks 0: The Kings had an extraordinary number of scoring chances early, and outshot the Canucks 11-3 in the first nine minutes, and they got rewarded 9:06 into the period. Drew Doughty’s slap shot from the left point got deflected by Dustin Penner in front of the net and beat Luongo, who had made a handful of brilliant stops before that. Rob Scuderi also got an assist.
End of period: The Kings outshot the Canucks 15-10 in the first period. The Kings went 1-for-1 on the penalty kill and did not have a power play.
