[UPDATE: Jonathan Quick led the Kings onto the ice for warmups, so there’s your Darryl Sutter surprise in goal. This isn’t baseball.]
This is the second of four meetings this season between the Kings and the Edmonton Oilers, and follows the Oilers’ 3-0 victory at Staples Center on Nov. 3. The Oilers were rolling at that point, with an 8-2-2 start to the season, but they have fallen on harder times of late. Young stars Jordan Eberle and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins are out with injuries — as are three other Oilers — and the Oilers are 2-11-1 since Dec. 9. Former Kings center Eric Belanger suffered an injury in Friday’s game and his status for tonight is questionable. It’s also not certain whether the Oilers will go with Khabibulin or Devan Dubnyk in goal. For the latest on the Oilers, check out the coverage from the Edmonton Journal and the Edmonton Sun, followed by the possible lineups for tonight’s game…
