This is the only meeting of the season between the Kings and the Washington Capitals. The Capitals seem to have found a rhythm under new coach Dale Hunter — this, of course, is a battle of teams that made in-season coaching changes — as the Capitals had won four consecutive games before their loss to San Jose on Saturday. Tomas Vokoun, who is expected to start in goal tonight, allowed a total of only five goals in those four goals before the Sharks scored five on Saturday. Not surprisingly, the Capitals are led by Alex Ovechkin, who has been on fire of late, with five goals in his last four games. Washington will be without injured forward Nicklas Backstrom and defenseman Mike Green.
