Game 34: Kings 3, Ducks 2 (FINAL, SO)

THIRD PERIOD
In goal: It’s still Quick against Hiller.
Kings 2, Ducks 1: The Kings took the lead 8:02 into the third period. Anze Kopitar carried the puck into the Ducks’ zone with speed, then dropped a pass for Dustin Brown. Brown didn’t hesitate, and whipped a long-range, high shot past Hiller. Drew Doughty picked up his second assist of the game.
Kings 2, Ducks 2: The Ducks tied the game with 3:11 remaining in regulation. Lubomir Visnovsky held the puck near the blue line and pulled it far right, then fired a shot that beat Quick through traffic. Niklas Hagman and Toni Lydman got assists.
End of period: The Kings outshot the Ducks 33-20 in regulation.

SECOND PERIOD
In goal: It’s still Quick against Hiller.
Ducks 1, Kings 0: After the Kings did next to nothing with two second-period power plays, the Ducks took the lead with 6:05 remaining. Lubomir Visnovsky wound up from the blue line and Niklas Hagman, parked to the left of the net, deflected Visnovsky’s shot past Quick from close range. Luca Sbisa also got an assist.
Kings 1, Ducks 1: The Kings tied the game with 3:43 remaining in the second period. Mike Richards won an offensive-zone faceoff, then went to the inside of the left circle. Drew Doughty shot from the left point, and Richards deflected the puck down and past Hiller for his team-high 12th goal of the season.
End of period: The Kings outshot the Ducks 12-6 in the period, went 0-for-2 on the power play and did not face a penalty kill. The Kings will be on the power play for the first 1:41 of the third period.

FIRST PERIOD
In goal: It’s the Kings’ Jonathan Quick against the Ducks’ Jonas Hiller.
End of period: The Kings outshot the Ducks 13-9, even though they had to kill two penalties and didn’t have a power play. Hiller made two strong glove saves on shots by Dustin Brown and Anze Kopitar.
