Toffoli good, but not for Team Canada

Last night, general manager Dean Lombardi and other management members made the hour-long trip from Toronto to Oshawa to watch two Kings prospects in a junior game between Ottawa (with Tyler Toffoli) and Oshawa (with Andy Andreoff). Ottawa won 5-3, and Toffoli had one goal while Andreoff did not have a point.

Andreoff, a third-round pick of the Kings this year, has 12 goals and 14 assists in 25 games. Toffoli, a second-round pick last year, has 30 goals and 24 assists in 31 games. That, however, was not enough to earn Toffoli a spot on Canada’s World Junior Championships team, which was announced last week. Toffoli had widely been expected to make the team, and was among the final cuts even though he’s the leading goal scorer in the Ontario Hockey League this season. The Ottawa Citizen recently did an item on Toffoli, which you can read by clicking here.
