The view from Anaheim

One had to figure the Anaheim Ducks would be a dangerous opponent Tuesday night. They had suffered back-to-back meltdowns under new coach Bruce Boudreau and had seen goalie Jonas Hiller publicly call out teammates. The Kings still got jumped, though, as they trailed 2-0 after the first period and rallied to tie the game before Bobby Ryan’s last-minute goal. Here’s how The Orange County Register covered last night’s game, followed by a couple postgame quotes from the Ducks’ locker room, courtesy of The Associated Press game recap…

The Orange County Register

—–

BOBBY RYAN
(on the Ducks’ recent struggles…) “It’s tough not to get down on yourselves. We’ve been through it so many times and we’ve given up leads so many times, and we did it again tonight. But Bruce did a good job behind the bench, telling guys, `Let’s move forward. We’re not going to be beaten tonight.’ And I think he instilled that confidence in us.’’

COACH BRUCE BOUDREAU
(on the win…) “It’s not the Cup, but it felt pretty good. There’s no doubt. I felt really good for the players because they were smiling, and they worked so hard. If it had gone the other way after another lead like that, I was a little worried about it. We got a lucky break, but they got a lucky break, too, so it evened out.’’
