Murray postgame quotes (Dec. 6)

Terry Murray’s postgame thoughts…

(on the game…)
MURRAY: “I liked the effort in the first period, and the third period was a good effort, good work. Three real bad, just bad plays on our part. Goalie to the D, a handoff and a turnover. An icing, when you’ve got about six inches more to get to the red line and you ice it. And then the faceoff. We’ve seen those several times this year already. We’ve got to get through it. We’ve got to get back to work tomorrow. We’ve got a big game coming up now. We have to move on and get ready for Minnesota.’’

(on needing more offense…)
MURRAY: “I thought we generated some good opportunities here tonight. Hiller played well, he made some big stops. We had plenty of good looks in point-blank situations, I felt. I liked our attitude about pucks to the net. We had more traffic at the net. It was better. If you do that consistently, you’re going to get some more goals.’’

(on the momentum turn after Voynov’s goal…)
MURRAY: “That should be a good momentum boost for you, to come back and go into the third period in a 2-1 game. They’ve had a tough time here in the third period in the last couple games. It was not something we talked about, their game, but we did talk about the importance of that goal, and you’ve got to be able to take advantage of the momentum and go right back at them.’’
