It’s almost time for Dustin Penner to make his much-anticipated regular-season debut, after Penner missed the first two games with a “lower-body injury.’’ Penner participated in this morning’s skate and is expected to be on a line with Mike Richards and Dustin Brown, a look that the Kings had briefly in the preseason. Here’s what Terry Murray said, after today’s skate, about what he expects from Penner tonight…
MURRAY: “I’m looking for him to be a good hockey player for us. He’s coming back from missing the first two games, and I want to see him try to give us that part of the game that we know is there, which is the offensive part of the game. We always come from the checking side of the game. That’s the most important thing. With recovering pucks, he can get going the other way and he can do some real special things in the offensive zone. So I’m hoping that he’s able to feel confident and feel good about getting back in his first game, and be able to play significant minutes in this game.’’
